Senior Director of Global Corporate Development - Remote

Job Description:

  • Serve as “quarterback” for acquisitions, divestitures, minority investments, joint ventures and other related transactions as a member of Johnson Control’s Global Corporate Development team.
  • Partner closely with Strategy, Business Development, Integration and General Management colleagues.
  • Lead M&A transactions.
  • Drive initial business assessments.
  • Partner with business teams and Business Development team to “stress test” / “sanity check” underlying assumptions of business financial model.
  • Lead financial modeling (DCF, LBO, ROIC, etc.) to inform business valuation and bidding strategy.
  • Create and present business overviews to C-Suite executives.
  • Serve as primary M&A lead interacting with sellers / representatives.
  • Spearhead / coordinate business and functional diligence across both internal and external advisors.
  • Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel to ensure business judgement / logic is applied to legal documentation.
  • Develop strategic lens to enable partnership with Strategy and Business Development teams in assessing target company fit / synergy.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with corporate executives, business unit officers, target company management teams, and industry and professional networks that can assist in corporate development initiatives.
  • Assess and continually improve the internal deal selection, M&A execution and post-deal monitoring processes.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in Investment Banking, M&A, Corporate Development, or Transaction Advisory services.
  • Prior Investment Banking experience required.
  • End-to-end M&A execution experience as demonstrated by deal volume.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills along with excellent executive communication and presentation skills required.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, including ability to quickly build rapport, credibility, and trust at a senior level.
  • Track record of collaborating on all aspects of M&A deal execution and diligence, including the management of internal and external deal teams.
  • BS in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or other relevant degree required; MBA, or other relevant degree, from a top tier program preferred.
