<p>Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection is seeking a Planned Giving Officer for the Planned Giving department. In this position you will cultivate, solicit, and steward current and new donors for the Planned Giving team, within the Mid-Atlantic region of the US (Washington DC, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia). You will raise funds towards a set fundraising target.</p> <p> Responsibilities:<br /> Solicits and documents bequest intentions and beneficiary designations from prospects in the Mid-Atlantic region for the Planned Giving team;<br /> Follows up on marketing campaigns, individual inquiries, and personal outreach to generate leads and develop contacts for solicitation;<br /> Stewards Humane World Legacy supporters in Mid-Atlantic region, prioritizing high gift commitments and high net worth;<br /> Promotes, solicits, and closes Charitable Gift Annuities;<br /> Generates income to meet set fundraising targets, via outright annual donations from assigned portfolio of donors. Assists donors with methods such as IRA rollovers, gifts of stock and mutual funds, and gifts of non-cash assets;<br /> Keeps abreast of achievements, victories, and other developments in the organization and among affiliates, to ensure the ability to provide donors and prospects with full, accurate, and specific information. Collaborates and maintains relationships with colleagues;<br /> Keeps abreast of trends relevant to technical knowledge and tax law concerning charitable gift planning;<br /> Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.</p> <p> Qualifications and Requirements:<br /> Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. CAP, CFRE, CFP, or legal degree preferred;<br /> A minimum of four (4) years of experience working full-time in planned giving at a non-profit required, with an additional three (3) years minimum in fundraising, donor engagement, or another related field preferred;<br /> Advanced skills in creating planned gift models using software, such as PG Calc;<br /> Advanced skills in moves management and CRM database systems;<br /> Advanced knowledge of planned giving vehicles including Charitable Gift Annuities and Qualified Charitable Distributions;<br /> Unwavering commitment to customer service and experience providing prompt, professional responses to all inquiries through exceptional verbal and written communication skills;<br /> Proven ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team; ability to handle multiple relationship situations simultaneously and navigate through a complex and multi-level organization;<br /> Knowledge of relevant tax, probate, trust, and financial/estate planning matters;<br /> Leadership ability in work setting.
